Terroirs

Great diversity in soil types & microclimates

la solana, torroja

Country state located in the municipality of Porrera, has never been mechanised and all work is done in the traditional way only with human effort.

Depending on the orientation of the vineyards, it must be harvested sooner or later. The south-facing ones with the most hours of sunshine should be harvested sooner. Harvesting is done by grabbing the baskets tightly because it is very easy them rolling downhill.

Les planes, torroja

It includes a fairly extensive area of vineyards, olive and almond trees and a vegetable garden that stretches from the “Montjuïc” mountain to the Siurana riverbed. It faces the Montsant and has a ravine that crosses it and with which the orchards are irrigated.

There is a part of an old vineyard, planted in 1940 and another with terraces planted in 1977 by Ramon and Carles Miró with varieties of black and white Grenache and Carignan.

This property has been mechanised in part thanks to the terraces, which facilitates cultivation.

ELS BELLVISOS (KNOWN AS EL TROSSET DE CAL BENET)

This property is next to the manor house, separated only by the county road.
Only 30% of its entire surface it is cultivated. They look at Montsant, in the north, and it is traditionally said that farms with this orientation are more productive and of higher quality.

It is a very steep slope, which makes it difficult to mechanise and can only be cultivated with animals or digging with a hoe.

The varieties are Grenache and Carignan with a mine of water, olive trees and almond trees.
